We stayed at the Customs House Inn while attending our sons wedding. The rooms were beautiful and very spacious. Doug, the owner could not have been more attentive in making sure our stay was perfect. We will definitely stay here again, we hope that you are able to get the bar up and running that would be a great asset to an already wonderful place.
Beautiful rooms in a stunning, historic building by the water. Doug the innkeeper is beyond gracious and hospitable. Walking distance to restaurants and the historic Hector Quay. Cannot recommend enough!
Located in waterfront side Pictou, the customs house inn has heritage style furnished rooms with contemporary features. The little decorations are well thought out and adds to the flavour of the room. The inn itself is ran by Doug. It is also close to the heart of Pictou and everything is within walking distance away.
We had a wonderful overnight stay. Very clean and very spacious room. The inn is walkable to the waterfront restaurants and shops. Lots of history in the area. We definitely recommend and would stay there again.
We had a delightful stay in this magnificent and historic building in October/24. We were on the trail of my husband’s Scottish family and the owner knew all the people in his family or who knew them. It was mesmerizing and I picked the perfect location for information! It was good because the Museum is not open on the weekends, unfortunate knowing so many tourists must visit there on those days. We are Haligonians originally but came up to follow our leads from Ancestry.com. And the weather during our stay was atrocious once we hit Cape Breton. Be aware it has its own weather up that northern end of our province. But our start in Pictou was excellent thanks to the Customs House owner.
Cute place. Something came up with the owner and they were not around for our check in or check out, but they were very communicative about it, and we still got access to our room easily. Rooms were clean, spacious, and comfortable. Great location too - we were able to walk along the pier to all the restaurants and shops. We were very happy with our stay.
An incredible old building with a great history that has been converted to a deluxe hotel with modern rooms that retain the charm of the building while providing all the comforts we are used to. Very clean and well kept. It's located right on the waterfront and the town of Pictou is super walkable...even for old folks like us. What could it use? And ice machine and some picnic tables to enjoy the outdoors and the incredible views a bit more. All in all...if we are ever back...this would be my first choice.
Custom house inn was an ideal place to stay in Pictou. It is a historic building that is well kept. It is within driving distance to several beautiful provincial parks and within walking distance to many restaurants. The room was adorable-- the window overlooked the harbor which meant that I was able to watch the sunrise over the ocean from the bed. The innkeeper was super accommodating. This Inn is a must stay if you're visiting Nova Scotia.
